IoT & LoRaWAN and the fourth Industrial revolution/age

Aka The further, 21st century adventures of Hedy Lamarr and Nicolas Sornin

This presentation is based upon work with the South London Partnership and drawing upon successful public sector projects around the UK. The research in 2019 includes conclusions on where we are at the moment, concerning the technology and security governance of IoT, with a focus on LoRaWAN. In addition to the three WARPs where it was initially featured, over 50 organisations in various stages of thinking about IoT have seen and made use of this research. This presentation was retired in early 2021 having been used as part of the C-TAG series in 2020. Supplied as part of this ninety-minute presentation to download for further reading were:

  1. Short-form guidance on the security of IoT from the excellent Cygenta Consultancy.

  2. CPNI PAS_185_Corrigendum (Smart cities – Specification for establishing and implementing a security-minded approach)

An attendee commented, "To condense 12 months of effort into a 90 mins presentation didn’t do it justice. I could have listened for hours more!"
